By creating an account or using Lamplit, you agree to these terms. Please also read our privacy policy.

Your account

You need to be 13 or over to create an account. Keep access to your email secure, since that's how you sign in. You're responsible for what you post from your account.

What you post

Your reviews, lists and profile stay yours. By posting them, you let Lamplit show them publicly on the site for as long as they're up. You can edit or delete them at any time.

Please be kind, even when you disagree with a book. Don't post anything that is:

• abusive, hateful, threatening or harassing towards anyone, including authors;
• sexually explicit, or harmful to children;
• spam, advertising, or links that mislead;
• someone else's private information, or copied text beyond a short quotation;
• illegal, or encouraging anything illegal.

Readers with different traditions and views are welcome. Disagree about ideas, not about people.

Moderation

Anyone signed in can report a review or list. We may hide content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or remove accounts that repeatedly do. If you think we've got it wrong, contact us at hello@lamplit.org.

Book information

Book details and covers come from Open Library and may sometimes be wrong or missing. Covers belong to their publishers.

The service

Lamplit is provided free, as it is. We'll do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or close it. If we close it, we'll give notice so you can download your data.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
